About Sayle Cycle
Sayle Cycle was founded in Munich, Germany in 2023.

The Idea
The bicycle was created in the summer of 2022 as part of Marcel Sayle's industrial design bachelor's thesis on the topic of "Mobility in Cities". It combines personal previous knowledge from the bicycle and metal construction industry with newly acquired knowledge in the field of industrial design.
The idea for a slightly different cargo bike is the result of extensive research, a structured design and construction process, various prototypes and many many test rides.
"For me, a long-lasting and therefore sustainable bicycle is technically sophisticated, inconspicuous and can be repaired by any mechanic with standard parts. The driving characteristics, usability and appearance round off the concept." — Marcel Sayle

The Team
We are not only passionate cyclists and enthusiastic mechanics, but each of us has been closely connected to the subject of bicycles for many years. As industrial designers, we not only pay attention to the aesthetic and ergonomic needs of users, but also focus with great importance to functionality, durability and ecological footprint. The team consists of:
- Marcel Sayle
- Benedikt Hassert

Our story
In search of the perfect bike concept
Our aim was clear from the outset: we build bikes that go with you through everyday life and make you want to go on a cycling adventure at the weekend — both spontaneous trips to the lake and the nearest beer garden, or on an extended cycling and trekking tour.
Robust, simple, functional. No frills, but with character. A good bike is inconspicuous and you hardly notice it — it is comfortable and works reliably. Its functionality and attractive appearance are the focus of attention, not its defects and problems.
We were inspired by the station wagon in automotive history to create a sporty vehicle with extra storage space and a high level of everyday practicality. What was ridiculed back then is indispensable today. We are transferring precisely this concept to the bicycle.
For all those who don't want to choose between practicality and style

A new bike category
Each type of bike has its strengths: road bikes and gravel bikes are ideal for fast progress on and off the road, mountain and all-terrain bikes are agile on rough terrain, touring bikes and randonneurs are designed for comfort on long journeys.
But which concept is best suited to everyday life, the daily commute to work, the weekly shop and the bikepacking trip at the weekend? The № skillfully combines the characteristics of several bike types without compromising on riding fun. The № was developed for the urban and hectic city jungle as well as for extended rides in the countryside. With its integrated cargo area and sporty geometry, it combines the practical advantages of a cargo bike with the stability and agility of an ATB and cross bike. The № describes a new path and defines its own category: the lowtail

Sustainable, durable & repairable
Cycling is a sustainable means of transportation per se. For us, sustainability starts with the manufacturing process. That's why the № is made from high-quality and environmentally friendly 4130 chromoly steel, welded, powder-coated, sealed and assembled by us near Munich. No far-east imports with long, environmentally harmful logistics chains. Short distances, low emissions — and full control over product quality. For us, sustainability also means product longevity. For this reason, our bikes are robust and solidly built, equipped with high-quality components and designed for many decades of reliable use - without being heavy. Thanks to the use of standardized standard components, the № can be repaired and upgraded worldwide for a long time — by any bicycle mechanic.
